For a complete list of instructions please read the README
file. SmtpRC has not been ported to Solaris so doesn't yet
work on Solaris machines. If you can help out with this please
contact diceman@dircon.co.uk.

To compile smtprc just run make && make install in this directory.
This will create the smtprc binary. SmtpRC also relies on sending
email back to the machine it is run from so as to be sure that
email is relayed so you will need to add an account for this
(smtprc) on the scanning machine and also have an MTA running
on port 25 (Sendmail, Exim). Once you have done this modify
the auto.conf file to reflect your settings and also modify the
rcheck.conf file to reflect the tests that you want to run and
the run ./smtprc -j auto.conf. This will then scan the network
specified and output the resuls to the webpage specified.

You may also want to modify the email.tmpl file as this file
represents the email message that is sent through every host
tested.

I also strongly advise completely reading the README file or
manpage to get a full list of smtprc commands.
